TOURISM AND COVID-19 RECOVERY
The role of data and innovation in driving a sustainable recovery

Tuesday, 19 January 2021
11:00 - 12:30 CET

Scotland House Brussels is delighted to invite you to our upcoming event on the role of data and innovation in the responsible recovery of the European tourism sector.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the tourism industry, with revenues and visitor numbers falling dramatically. Ongoing travel restrictions aimed at tackling the virus mean tourism bodies are identifying new and innovative ways of supporting the visitor economy, while delivering on commitments to make the sector more sustainable and fit for the future.

This event will bring together European tourism stakeholders to showcase three excellent examples of how they are using data and innovation to drive a sustainable recovery, and in doing so contributing to the development of smarter destinations.

VisitScotland will share how it is using data to predict future tourism demand and capacity; VisitFlanders will highlight its work on the YouFlanders app, which helps visitors avoid crowds and identify alternative tourism experiences; and Andalusia Tourist Board will share its innovative approach to statistics and sustainable development.
