The Edinburgh Declaration: The role of regional governments within the UN Convention on Biodiversity - COP15

Scotland House Brussels
Net-Zero Transition & Low Carbon

We are delighted to invite you to your next Scotland House Brussels event, organised in collaboration with the European Committee of the Regions and ICLEI, for a celebration of regional and local action in the global fight against biodiversity loss.

In order to achieve truly transformational change for nature over the next decade, it is crucial that all levels of government and society work together. As part of a formal submission to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), The Edinburgh Declaration calls for all Parties to recognise the vital role of subnational governments, cities, and local authorities in delivering for biodiversity and implementing actions to meet the goals and targets.

The event will be a panel discussion running from 10:30am - 11:30am CET, followed by a networking brunch on Wednesday June 1st at Scotland House Brussels.

This is a hybrid event, therefore we kindly ask that you indicate in your RSVP whether you will be attending in-person or online. You can register here.

Information on how sub-national governments and authorities can sign the Declaration will be available at the event. For further information, please click here.
